Understand Equines From a Neuroethology Perspective...
Have You Ever Wondered What is Happening with the Inside of Your Horse During Times of
Calm or Stress?
Horse Speak has teamed up with Dr. Jen Juranek a Neuroscientist from the University of Texas Health and Science Center, to assist us to better understand the inner workings of horses, and how the horse's nervous systems is responding to their environment and presence of people in everyday interactions.
You can see the emotional makers of stress on the outside of a horse, so you too can be a scientist and understand what is happening from moment to moment with your horse's nervous system.

NICE TO MEET YOU
Who is Sharon Wilsie?
The founder of Horse Speak®, an innovative language system for understanding and communicating with horses using their own body language. She is the author of several influential books and has spent over 20 years decoding equine communication to improve horse-human relationships.
Sharon’s work blends compassion with science and studying equines from an ethological perspective, incorporating Heart Rate Variability (HRV) research and Polyvagal Theory to identify hidden signs of stress in horses. Her insights have helped horse owners, trainers, and therapists worldwide create safer, more connected interactions with their equine partners.
She is passionate about "Giving Horses a Voice," to bring clarity and compassion to complex topics like trauma, emotional regulation, and the horse-human bond. Her goal for anyone who has a horse is to elevate how we listen to and care for horses—one conversation at a time.
